For years, I’ve dreamed of joining Roy Emerson’s Tennis Weeks at the Gstaad Palace in Switzerland. Every summer, for over 40 years, this Grand Slam legend has hosted tennis enthusiasts on the red-clay courts of this historic luxury hotel. The program, running five hours daily at 3,000 feet, attracts a loyal international following, offering a unique blend of rigorous tennis training and camaraderie, enhanced by Emerson’s stories and expertise. The week includes group drills, doubles play, a midweek picnic in the Alps, and a farewell dinner, making it an unforgettable experience.

Emerson's weeklong program, with five hours of daily tennis at 3,000 feet, is more intense than typical luxury hotel offerings, yet it has built a loyal international following. Camp sizes range from 15 to 40 participants, divided into small groups by skill level. Mornings and afternoons are spent on technique, drills, and doubles play with his expert staff.

The hotel offers an indoor/outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, and upscale shops.

The 150-room Gstaad Palace combines elegance with a welcoming atmosphere, managed by the Scherz family since 1938. The service is gracious and professional, with recently renovated, unique rooms. Emerson Tennis Week prices include six nights' lodging, instruction, all meals, one massage, pool and gym access, and taxes. The camp is popular and fills up quickly, but a waiting list is available.

The Gstaad Palace is open June to September, with the nearest airports being Geneva (GVA), 2 hours away by car or 3 by train, and Zurich (ZRH), 2.5 hours by car or around 3-3.75 hours by train.
