Kingsmill Resort, located along the James River near Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, is named after early settler Richard Kingsmill of the Virginia Company. Spanning 2,900 acres of former plantation land, the resort features three 18-hole golf courses, a 15-court tennis complex, a spa, fitness center, marina, river pool, and children’s programs. It also offers conference facilities, four restaurants, and approximately 400 condos and cottages.

Director of Racquet Sports Davy Hairston, a former Division I tennis player for the University of Virginia, joined Kingsmill Resort in late 2022. With experience managing Caribbean resorts and directing tennis programs in Virginia and Georgia, he has developed a well-rounded program catering to both guests and members. The courts complex features 13 Har-Tru courts, including a stadium court, along with two hard courts, four pickleball courts, and a pro shop overlooking the facility.

The resort features two 18-hole golf courses, including the Pete Dye-designed River Course and the Plantation Course by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, set among water hazards and woods. Guests can unwind at the spa with Swedish and therapeutic treatments or visit the Sports Club, which offers a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, and a lazy river. Activities include biking, watercraft rentals at the marina, and the Explorers Kids Club during spring and summer. Dining options range from The Mill bakery and the seasonal James Landing Grille to Eagles in the golf clubhouse and Elements 1010 for family meals with river views.

Accommodations include guest rooms, 1- to 3-bedroom condos with kitchens, and 3- to 4-bedroom cottages, all located in low-rise buildings throughout the property.

The resort is open year-round, with tennis season typically running from March to November. The nearest airport is Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport (PHF), a 25-minute drive away. Richmond International (RIC) and Norfolk International (ORF) airports are also nearby, each about 50 minutes away.
