Built-in the 1920s in Mediterranean Revival style, The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club, Autograph Collection, attracted a glamorous crowd before undergoing extensive renovations and reopening in 1992. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it boasts hand-painted beams and decorative plasterwork. The resort offers amenities like a golf club, spa, fitness center, and 10 Har-Tru tennis courts. Located on Tampa Bay, it’s also near Baywalk and the Salvador Dali Museum.

Tennis director Hans Gallauer, a USPTA pro since 1980, has led the tennis program at The Vinoy since the late 1990s, creating activities for 400 local members and hotel guests. Daily clinics cater to all levels, and from September to May, there's an after-school junior program, while summer offers a junior day camp and tennis as part of the resort’s Kids Camp. The Vinoy features 10 Har-Tru courts, with four HydroGrid courts and the remaining eight landscaped with trees and shrubs. All courts have lights and are paired with shaded patios.

The Vinoy lacks an on-site beach, but guests can visit Fort Desoto Beach, 14 miles away. Golfers have access to the private 18-hole Vinoy Golf Course, located 1.5 miles from the hotel. The Vinoy Spa offers massages, body treatments, and salon services, while the fitness center provides complimentary classes. Dining options include six restaurants and bars, featuring a French patisserie, local seafood at Paul’s Landing, and Latin American cuisine at Parasol by the pool.

The resort offers 356 rooms, with 254 in the original building and 102 in a tower added in 1992. While the hotel has historic status, the rooms have been modernized with spacious layouts and amenities, including double-sink bathroom vanities.
