Star Island made its tennis debut in 1997 with a Vic Braden Tennis College, featuring six ball-machine-fed hitting lanes and nine hard courts. After losing its prominence following Bradenโ€™s departure, Kevin Brandt took over as tennis director in 2012, revitalizing the program with over 30 annual tournaments and a range of activities, including free clinics, Cardio tennis, and video-analyzed lessons. The resort offers a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with accommodations in 1- to 3-bedroom Mediterranean-style buildings surrounding a pool, tennis courts, and a lake. Additional amenities include a fitness center, spa, golf driving range, arcade, and proximity to major Orlando attractions.

Tennis director Kevin Brandt, originally from Minnesota, has taught and coached in Arizona, Minnesota, and Florida, where he managed Lake Cane Tennis Center. With multiple PTR certifications, he emphasizes matching the right equipment to each player's skills and physique, often addressing this with resort guests to improve their game. The resort has nine hard courts, including an exhibition court with terraces, and Brandt offers balls, grips, and overnight restringing. Guests can find matches via the Star Island Tennis website, and court access is free for them.

The Spa at Star Island offers massages, facials, body treatments, and a hair and nail salon, while the fitness center is well-equipped and located near the lobby.
