Over 40 years ago, Nick Bollettieri moved his young tennis proteges to Bradenton, Florida, founding the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, now known as IMG Academy. This facility, famous for producing world-ranked players like Monica Seles and Andre Agassi, has shifted its focus from turning out pros to encouraging college-bound athletes. The Academy offers an intensive, five-hour-a-day tennis program led by enthusiastic coaches like Roger Blackburn, emphasizing personal improvement and practical tips, often supported by video analysis. Guests can stay at the on-campus Legacy Hotel, a 160-room lodge with a restaurant, bar, pool, and spa, adding a social and relaxing element to the tennis camp experience, and making it feel more like a vacation than a boot camp.

The adult programs at IMG Academy are led by experienced pros Roger Blackburn and Jonathan Osuigwe, with additional staff as needed. Before arrival, guests are encouraged to download the CoachNow app, where theyโ€™ll receive a warm, enthusiastic welcome from Blackburn, setting an energetic tone for the week. The Academy features 55 courts (33 hard, 18 clay, and 4 indoor) with no court fees. Participants should prepare for the physical demands of a full-day program and bring well-broken-in, comfortable shoes; water, Gatorade, and towels are provided on the court.

The IMG Academy Tennis Program is one of nine sports offered at the 600-acre Bradenton site, where juniors can pursue various sports and adults can choose from tennis, golf, and performance training. The Legacy Hotel features a fitness center and the Wellness Spa, offering massages and specialized services. Dining options include the Icon Eatery & Bar, which serves all meals and offers in-room dining, and the Icon Loft, with small plates and cocktails from 4 pm to midnight. Additional dining is available at the Campus Center and Adult Clubhouse, with local restaurant recommendations provided by the hotelโ€™s concierge.

The Legacy Hotel offers 160 rooms, a resort-style pool, and dining options like the Icon Eatery & Bar and the grab-and-go Provisions Bar. Transportation is provided to and from on-campus programs. Additionally, the Academy features kitchen-equipped villas with up to three bedrooms. Guests can also choose from various nearby accommodations, including options close to the Sarasota-Bradenton airport.

The program runs year-round, with many adults opting for a half-day schedule during the summer. The nearest airport, Sarasota Bradenton International (SRQ), is just 6 miles away.
