Originally from Orange County, California, Mary Hannsz pursued degrees in Marketing and International Business before a career in film production. Returning to tennis in Austin, she joined Hanalei Bay in 2012 as head pro, offering a variety of weekly activities, including clinics, Cardio tennis, and junior programs. Their racquet facility has 4 artificial turf courts and 2 hard courts, which overlook the ocean, as well as 6 new pickleball courts

The resort's bluff-top location offers stunning views, but beachgoers need to walk a winding path down to the public beach or take the hotel shuttle.

Lodging options include hotel rooms, studios with kitchenettes, and one- to three-bedroom suites, with rates varying by view. All units are on a hill, a 5-minute walk from the beach via a paved footpath. Tennis court use is included in the rates.
