When I joined a morning drop-in clinic at Sea Colony, over 30 people were already on the courts, showcasing the resort’s strong tennis culture. While the beach is the primary attraction, Sea Colony’s 34 tennis courts, including 6 indoor, make tennis a close second. Many homeowners cited the quality of the tennis facilities as a key reason for purchasing, with a variety of programs like clinics, camps, and custom tennis getaways available year-round. The resort spans both sides of Route 1, with a bustling beachfront and a quieter residential area connected by trams and bike paths.

Sea Colony's award-winning tennis facility, led by director Alejandro Justiniani, offers a wide range of programs supported by a friendly and dedicated staff. With 34 courts—6 indoor, 14 Har-Tru, and 4 dedicated to pickleball—the resort runs daily clinics, round robins, and special events like NIKE adult camps and tournaments. Pickleball has also grown with 8 lighted courts and various programs for adults and juniors. The main tennis center features a pro shop, a viewing area, and courts that remain open until 10 p.m., all with no court fees.

Sea Colony offers ½ mile of soft sand beach along Bethany Beach, with a free shuttle transporting guests from the tennis center across Route 1. Nearby, a $7.5 million fitness and aquatic center features indoor and outdoor pools, a gym, and various fitness classes. Bike paths connect Sea Colony West, making it easy for kids to reach the tennis courts, fitness center, or marketplace. Dining options include Fin's Ale House, Armand's Pizza, and other nearby restaurants in Bethany and Fenwick Beaches.

Lodging options include 1-to-5 bedroom condos and houses, with some oceanfront and others near the tennis complex. Summer rentals require a one-week minimum stay.

Sea Colony operates year-round, supported by its indoor courts. The nearest major airports are Baltimore Washington International (BWI) and Philadelphia International (PHL), both about 2½ hours away. Salisbury Regional Airport (SBY) is a closer option, just 45 minutes south of Bethany Beach.
