Silverado Resort

The Silverado Resort, located on a 1,200-acre estate in Napa Valley, was originally built in the 1870s by General John Franklin Miller. Legend says Miller built the elegant 14-room mansion around a pre-existing Spanish adobe cottage to avoid bad luck. Since welcoming guests in 1966, Silverado has become a popular vacation and conference destination, offering 36 holes of golf, a spa, fitness center, and 12 hard tennis courts.

USPTA Elite Pro Katie Dellich has led Silverado Resort's tennis programs since 2012, bringing her international coaching experience to Napa after working at various resorts and clubs worldwide. Dellich offers clinics, private lessons, and popular "Backhand, Vines, and Volley" getaways, along with customized camps and kids' programs combining tennis with swimming and golf. The resort's 10 tennis courts are spread across two locations: three near the mansion and seven near the spa. Court access is free for guests.

Silverado Resort's 36-hole golf courses, originally designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and later redesigned by PGA Hall of Famer Johnny Miller, feature oak-lined fairways, water crossings, and elevation changes. The 16,000-square-foot Roman-inspired spa offers a variety of treatments, saunas, steam rooms, a 25-meter lap pool, and a fitness center with weight training, cardio equipment, and over 30 exercise classes. Guests can also enjoy nine additional pools, bocce courts, and several dining options, including The Grill for Wine Country cuisine and the Silverado Market and Bakery for casual fare and picnic items.

The resort's 370 rooms are spread across multiple low-rise buildings, each featuring a balcony or terrace. Rooms range from junior suites to three-bedroom options, all with wood-burning fireplaces.

The resort is open year-round. While Napa has a county airport, most visitors fly into San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK), or Sacramento International Airport, with travel times of about 1 hour from Oakland and 75 minutes from San Francisco or Sacramento.
