Tennis Avenue Academy. A tennis academy and summer camp. Located in Surrey, Great Britain.
TA Mini Academy
There is already a TA Mini Academy program for advanced players under 10, so where does the TA Prodigy program fit in? We believe that we have great experience in spotting winners and champions early, and not all of it is based on playing ability. There are many other factors that convince us that a given child may be worth investing some extra effort into.
The revamped TA Prodigy program is our attempt to create an ARMY of such winners and champions of the future, training together and pushing each other hard. They will also create opportunities for valuable green and yellow ball competition internally (whereas otherwise they would need to compete with red and orange balls).
Our aim is for the TA Prodigy to be the best training program in the world for under 10s, and to be the natural preparation for entry into TA School.
It is only when we look back over our many remarkable achievements in recent years, that we realize how many of our successful players actually emerged from the TA Mini Academy.
No less than four players from the program became ranked No.1 in Great Britain and won many Tennis Europe international titles.
It is a tried and tested program that can now speak for itself very loudly and very clearly!
TA Junior Academy
The TA Junior Academy is a weekend and evening training program for children who are committed to tennis but are NOT attending TA School. However, the training’s broader content is the same, with up to eighteen hours of training accessible across our two venues. Therefore, the program makes it possible to train for as many hours as our most successful player and follow the same proven coaching methods.
In the TA Junior Academy, if children listen and work super hard, then they could in theory make just as much progress as the full-time players. It provides players an opportunity to rise up and prove themselves: to us, to their parents, and perhaps even to themselves.
TA Full-Time Accelerator
The TA Full-Time Accelerator is a tailored midweek program for players studying three to four A Levels – or vocational equivalents – combined with 18-20 hours per week of tennis and fitness (and it is also often accessed by gap year students in the period between A Levels and university). Their training is synchronized with the players in TA School who are at a similar stage of tennis development.
Education is accessed by using an online course provider with targeted tutoring where necessary. This does require players to be able to work independently with discipline and maturity.
While not delivering the education provision directly, TA will provide guidance and coordination at every step of the way and ensure an optimal outcome for each player.
Individual Player Program
There will only ever be zero to a handful of players on this program, mostly based at our Ash Manor Tennis Centre venue (with indoor and outdoor courts). There is an extremely high bar for acceptance, with no automatic passage from previous Elite programs. Indeed, the program remains empty if there are no suitable players for it.
Players on Individual Programs have their tennis and education fully managed and coordinated by TA. The education provision is the full responsibility of TA and we will use our own tutors in combination with distance learning resources to achieve the optimal outcome – i.e., the best possible Plan B for each player.
The program is bespoke, fluid,d, and informed by each players evolving needs as they strive to break-through successfully into Pro Tennis. In most cases, this will mean that the entire program will be periodized around and geared towards the tournament plan (ITF/ATP/WTA) for each given player.
