Total Tennis, founded in 1978 and now located in Saugerties, NY, is set on 73 acres just over 100 miles from New York City. This 25-court facility offers a tennis-focused retreat with five-hour-a-day programs, meals prepared by a CIA-trained chef, and a friendly, social atmosphere. Renovated in 2018, it now features upgraded accommodations, a new swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, and WiFi throughout. In addition to tennis, guests can enjoy hiking, biking, or rafting in the nearby Hudson Valley while staying at the newly branded Kaatsbaan Lodge.

Total Tennis offers a laid-back, fun approach to its 5-hour-a-day tennis program, led by experienced pros Saif Syed and Devarshi Mitra, both long-time instructors. Campers are grouped by ability, work with the same pro throughout their stay, and enjoy ½-hour private lessons as part of the package. With a strong sense of camaraderie, the camp attracts many repeat visitors, often drawing over 75 people on weekends. The 25-court complex includes 11 red clay courts, 12 hard courts (5 indoors), and 2 artificial clay courts, with no outdoor court fees for campers.

While the camp does not have a golf course, there is an 18-hole course nearby. The on-site day spa offers a variety of massages in six treatment rooms, and the fitness center provides cardio equipment and multisport stations. Amenities also include a recreational swimming pool available in summer and fall, and a year-round hot tub.

Total Tennis is open year-round, with the outdoor season running from mid-May to mid-October, and most winter visitors coming for weekends. The nearest major airport is Albany, 47 miles away, and the camp is three miles from Exit 20 off the New York State Thruway, about 100 miles north of New York City. Bus services connect NYC to Saugerties, and camp staff offer pick-up from the drop-off point. The nearest Amtrak station is in Rhinecliff, New York.
