Located just 15 miles from Charleston, Wild Dunes Resort offers golf, tennis, a beach, and a marina on a 1,600-acre property at the northern tip of the Isle of Palms. This South Carolina resort features a 2.5-mile-long beach and has a rich history of hosting the U.S. Clay Court Championships. The Village at Wild Dunes includes a restaurant, upscale market, spa, fitness center, and condominiums with hotel amenities. Wild Dunes Resort, once home to the U.S. Clay Court Championships, features 12 clay courts, including a stadium court, and four new pickleball courts centrally located near the Boardwalk Inn and Village. Tennis director Clayton Langheim, originally from South Africa and a former Division I player, leads the program with a focus on energy and quality instruction. The resort offers a variety of tennis programs, including Monday night exhibitions, game matching, and clinics for all ages and skill levels. Guests can reserve courts online, with fees of $15/hour before noon and one complimentary hour after noon for those booking through the resort.

The beach at Wild Dunes extends 2.5 miles with high dunes and sea oats, featuring the Grand Pavilion with seasonal light meals and two swimming pools. Tom Fazio designed the resort's Links and Harbor golf courses, with the Links Course ranked among the Top 100 in the U.S. and the Harbor Course offering challenging play with water hazards. The new Spa at Sweetgrass has 14 treatment rooms, a salon, and a fitness center. Wild Dunes offers several pools, bike rentals, fishing and boating excursions, children's programs, and diverse dining options, including Coastal Provisions and Beachside Burgers & Bar.

The newest addition to Wild Dunes Resort is the 153-room Sweetgrass Inn, which opened in 2021 and features a full-service spa, fitness center, expansive pool deck with a zero-entry pool and kids’ splash pool, rooftop terrace and bar with ocean views, retail, and three new restaurants. It complements the nearby 93-room Boardwalk Inn, both set slightly inland but within easy walking distance to the 2.5-mile beach. The Village, opened in 2008, offers condo accommodations with hotel-like amenities such as room service and daily maid service. Additional lodging includes a variety of condos, cottages, and privately-owned houses ranging from one to seven bedrooms, located by the ocean, Intracoastal Waterway, or inland near the tennis complex.

Wild Dunes Resort is open year-round, though winters can be chilly, with most family activities occurring between Memorial Day and Labor Day. From the airport, take I-526 East to the Georgetown exit (Hwy. 17 North), then follow Hwy. 17 North to Hwy. 517 (Isle of Palms Connector), turn right, and cross the Intracoastal Waterway. Turn left onto Palm Blvd. (Hwy. 703), continue to 41st Avenue, then turn right onto Palm Blvd. Extension; the main gate is on your left.
